Lids….

My chemistry professor asked the class, why do we put lids on containers? Is it to keep what is inside from getting out or things getting in? Well, spills do happen, but his point was aimed at contamination inside the container. We need to ask ourselves, what am I letting into my mind, my life, my environment? Is it helping or hurting me? Why does this matter?

Steps down the wrong road never lead to a right place. It’s easier to turn around at the beginning. Life choices make a life. The best ones get made standing close to Jesus. I’ve made my share of bad ones, but the throne of grace is amazing. The Lord’s love is never ending. Obedience to His word and a repentant life makes faith, work and the peace that passes all understanding prevails.

What is peace worth? Why does the Lord suggest he wants to bless us with it? Worry robs of us of joy. A hectic life is a horrible life. When am I living a hectic life, can I stop to smell the roses on this wild ride? Most likely not, and the ride is ending all too soon. Life is short!

How do I know what is helping and what is hurting? What are the “lids” on my life? They keep stuff out, but am I keeping the right stuff out? Do I even think about this? Life just seems to happen. For most it does, but for many it’s intentional. Life choices matter!

Put a lid on your life and be protected!

I’ve written a book about it, some 18 plus years in the making. It’s all about making choices with God and how that leads to right choices. The Bible is the ultimate teacher of what should go through the lid of your life. This devotional will help you to daily focus on one attribute of God and on how this can help make your day a little more joyous and peaceful.

The Bible says…

If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (see Joshua 24:15).
