August 17 – God is Serious sample daily devotion

The Bible says, “You are not a God who takes pleasure in evil; with you the wicked cannot dwell. 5The arrogant cannot stand in your presence; you hate all who do wrong” (Psalms 5:4-5).

Serious, about the sin in our lives, He hates it!

Without God I am:

Serious, about imminent danger, if only I understood the power in a choice, led by a voice, this stranger to God is truly in danger; it’s very near, if only I could hear.

With God I am:

Serious, about my need for daily time in His word, meditation, prayer, and drawing near to Him, freed from the bondage of sin.

Right Choices:

Being serious today about the casualness of a choice gone wrong puts a smile on God's face, and it will bring His grace (see 1 Peter 4:7).
